The Power of Proactive Reporting
W

‍hen you’re running an eCommerce business, you need visibility into the status of every item and customer order on all your channels. You also need to keep on top of and fix little problems before they become big problems.

‍‍If you’re not careful, you can run into problems like:

  • Over-selling or inconsistencies with quantity and pricing.
  • Lack of insight into order issues, such as delays or supply bottlenecks.

Different categories of problems can impact your seller ratings in multiple, negative ways. These can often be difficult or impossible to recover from.

‍

How to stay on top of reporting

‍Establish a process that make sure you get high-level reports delivered to your inbox at least once each day - even on weekends and holidays. Take a few minutes to review your reports whenever they come in.

Reporting gives you an invaluable window into your business

It’s an axiom that sooner or later, something is going to go wrong in a big way. But you’d be surprised how many huge problems got that way because they went undetected when they were still small and manageable.

Here’s how to get Amazon Seller Central to send you order reports, automatically.

  • Login to your Seller Central account here: https://sellercentral.amazon.com.
  • First, confirm your notifications are set correctly.
  • Navigate to Settings > Notification Preferences.
  • Make sure the correct email addresses are set under Reports section.
  • To add or change addresses, click “Edit” in the Reports section. .
  • Once addresses are set up correctly, navigate to Orders > Order Reports.
  • Check the “Scheduled Report Settings” section to review your current settings.
  • To schedule a report or change schedules, click “Edit”.
  • Select the type of report you’d like to receive.
  • Once you’re satisfied with the schedule, click “Submit”.

Some channels don’t offer a simple way to schedule reports using the seller interface. In those cases it’s better to find someone to help you automate the process.

‍

This is a common problem!
